Blackburn’s King William Street has undergone a dramatic transformation making it the hottest place to be this summer. Today sees the opening of Blackburn’s beach, complete with fun rides, deckchairs, bungee trampolines, water boat rides, giant water walker balls and a cabana-style hut selling sweets and refreshments. And for those who enjoy their fun a little on the quieter side, buckets and spades are available free of charge. Who needs to fly off to the costa del sol or Ibiza this bank holiday? Am I jealous of my friend’s uploading their photos on facebook frolicking on the beach and enjoying the Ibizan nightlight when I am stuck here in Blackburn? Jealous – moi? Huh! What do you think?
